Chermside Early Education Centre & Pre-school

Chermside Early Education and Preschool Centre is one of the most established and highly accredited centre's in the greater Brisbane region, providing the community with high quality, innovative care and education for the past 12 years.

We care and educate children from 6 weeks to 14 years of age our hours of operation are 6:30am to 6:00 pm. As security is one of our main priorities, our centre has an advanced security system where parents are allocated their own pin number to access the Centre during business hours. If anyone else wishes to enter the building they need only ring the doorbell to be welcomed by staff members.

The Chermside Early Education Centre has qualified, friendly and caring staff that can assist you with any needs that you may have. The staff are committed to continually updating their skills and qualifications by attending in-service seminars and conferences as well as workshops and professional development courses, which work towards providing the highest quality care and education for your children. Staff are required to gain their current Blue Card, Senior First Aid & CPR certificates and ensure their currency.

At The Chermside Early Education Centre & Preschool, we have an open door policy. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in our programs if they wish and new parents are particularly welcome to spend as much time with their child in our centre as required.

Our Director Jess Mckenzie holds her Advanced Diploma in Children's Services and has worked in the Child care industry and for the QCCS Company for the past 6 years. Jess has recently moved over to our Chermside Centre and is looking forward to spending many more years to come here. Jess runs the centre with the philosophy in mind as well as all her staff- "that every child has the right to be treated equally, given love, understanding, care and the quality education and respect they deserve" Jess is also a mother to a 4year old son so approaches all situations with a parents perspective as well as a trained Educator for the Early Years.

Our Program:

All of our rooms are creating a unique, EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework) educational program, based on the children's interests. It is a play-based learning program. We will ensure that all aspects of your child's development needs and interests are programmed for and regularly evaluated. The program values the need for children to learn through play, experience new challenges, practice skills in all developmental areas so as to realize their full potential. The experiences provided will inspire children to learn about themselves and the world around them, by introducing new and varied activities. We are genuinely passionate about keeping learning fun and our Group Leaders are happy to discuss any aspects of our program or your child's development with you. We believe in bringing learning to life for the children, as we recognize the importance of the early years.

There is also School Readiness Program on offer for children aged between 4 and 5 years old. This program is written in accordance with the Queensland Curriculum Guidelines and Queensland Childcare Services Preparatory Guidelines. This program involves an additional focus on literacy and numeracy to prepare the children for Prep and Year 1.

We also offer a Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) which helps the children to learn about themselves and their physical and social environment and to develop skills such as balance, hand-eye co-ordination and strength, while fostering self-esteem, co-operation, imagination, language and social skills.
